Shikarpuri's are found in main tourist destinations around the globe as well as major business centres around the globe.
In cannary islands, where tourist come from all over european cities, they sell cheap electronics to other businesses.
In Nigeria shikarpuri's has large economic control of trade, and have stakes in textile and other manufacturing industries.
In Hongkong and Singapore, they have fair share and do better than local chinese.
In Great Britan dwell few of the richest families from this area, who have real business influence from ages long.
There are few countries in the world where Shikarpuri traders does not come, but they have still indirect presence of their businesses.

SHIKARPUR DISTRICT

Shikarpur district in Sindh is divided into 4 administrative strata (taluka/tehsils), namely: Shikarpur city, Lakhi, Khan Pur and Garhi Yaseen. Chak, a town in taluka Lakhi, has an important place in the district politically, socially and economically besides the main Shikarpur city.

History of Shikarpur

Earlier History.
Shikarpur (Urdu: شڪارپور ) is the capital of Shikarpur District in Sindh province of Pakistan. It is situated about 29 km from the left bank of the Indus, with a railway station, 37 km NW. of Sukkur. After 1853 Sindh was divided into provinces and was assigned Zamindar to collect taxes for British. Zamindars were also known as 'Wadara'. the wadara of "Shikarpur" was Bhagwandas Golani (1841 - 1899) a merchant born in the royal family of the Golanis . After his death in his eldest son Shobraj Bhagwandas Golani (1878 - 1919) took over as the Landlord of Shikarpur, Digri, Jamrao, Kachhelo, Tando Jan Mohammed, Ratnabad, Roshanabad and Khayrpur. Shobraj Bhagwandas Golani was invited to Great Britain by the King along with all the Nawab's and Rajah's of India in 1900 to discuss the participation of their respective provinces in Expansion of British Empire. Shikarpur has always been an important place as commanding the trade route through the Bolan Pass, and its merchants have dealings with many towns in Central Asia. It has seven gates like Hathi Gate, Lucky Gate etc. It is famous for its pickles and sweets. It has a large market and manufactures cotton cloth and pottery. Because of its rich history, Shikarpur is known as PARIS.
